Green GOGO Juice

Since my juicer arrived last week, I have been experimenting with different recipes. I really wanted to start juicing to get all my servings of vegetables in first thing in the morning. I am a fan of getting things done first thing, as you never know where the day will take you! For that reason, I always try to go for a 30 minute run on my treadmill when I wake up just in case I don’t make it to yoga after work. The juice idea is to fill myself with all the possible nutrients and vitamins my body requires just in case I decide to go for fondue for dinner, in which case I doubtfully will get in my required veggies. Or, they will be covered in melted cheese!

This is my favourite juice recipe I’ve made so far (makes 2 servings)

Green GOGO Juice

3-4 leaves kale
2 handfuls spinach
1/2 bunch parsley
1 med cucumber
1 stalk celery
1 gala apple (or any sweeter apple)
1 granny smith apple
1 lemon peeled

If using a centrifugal blender, add leafy greens (kale, spinach and parsley) first. The fruit and veggies will help push it all through better. If using a slow juicer (masticating juicer) it doesn’t matter which order you juice.

Stir and enjoy over ice or as is.

I drank one glass for breakfast and kept the remainder in a mason jar for lunch. Masticating juicers don’t heat the juice as much a a centrifugal blender so they can last for around 24 hours if stored in an airtight container. Mason jars are perfect for storing juice as the lids are spill proof. You will feel energized and alive after this power punch of fruits and veggies!
